Absolute Barbecue was, as expected, a satisfying experience. What's best is the decor and spacious layout of the well-lit restaurant.
Sumptuous food
The starters were superb, especially chicken, prawn and fish ones. These arrived sizzling hot on the table grill.
What could be added was a serving of fresh salad alongside. Also at the price they are charging per head (INR 850 on Wednesday night) they can easily serve an accompanying sweet lime soda or jaljira.
The mutton sheekh kebab was a bit of a disappointment, but our server enterprisingly stirred them in a bit of kosha mangsho gravy and served us when we complained. He said it was a new dish he had invented for us!
The main course had several options, north Indian, Chinese and Bengali.
Compared to Barbecue Nation, we found the mains better here.
The dessert range was quite good and varied. Gulab jamun, rasgulla, balushahi, cheesecake, pastries, sheera, mithai, ice cream, what not.
Very good desserts. Only wish we could taste the kulfi as well.
What we liked best was the extremely courteous service and behaviour of their staff. When we requested for a container to carry leftovers, they very patiently explained that they couldn't allow that.
A Suggestion
And that's what I don't like about this all you can eat buffet model. There is so much food on the plate that goes waste. Why not have a reasonably fixed portion size or a facility to carry the remaining food home?
A lot of hungry people on the road could have a decent meal that way. My daughter suggested they themselves could tie up with the Robinhood army to feed needy people.
This is a suggestion from my side, to make a memorable experience even better.
