Kolkata is a truly cosmopolitan city. There are all kinds of races and ethnicities here, from the Afghans and Jews, to the Anglo Indians, Armenians and the Chinese.
Tangra locality in Kolkata is home to a sizeable Chinese population settled in India. Our city has benefited tremendously from the confluence of Chinese cuisine and culture with our own. In fact, if there is one cuisine that Bengali as well as non Bengali people in Kolkata have truly made their own, it is Chinese food.
Welcome to Tangra Chinese restaurants that serve the most authentic Indo-chinese fare, with a delightful mingling of authentic mandarin flavours with desi spices.
Beijing special noodles with meat, chicken, prawns, eggs and veggies - very good |
Prawn appetizer - delish |
Chicken Lung Fung soup - good |
Beijing serves delicious starters, soups, main course and appetizers. The ambiance is vibrant and interiors spacious enough to accommodate a large number of patrons. And boy, isn't it popular!
I particularly liked the salt and pepper crispy prawns as starter. The chicken drums of heaven were over-fried and dry, however. The fish in black pepper sauce is a bit overpriced but delicious in taste. They have half as well as full portions so groups can choose accordingly.
Check out this Tangra restaurant to get a taste of affordable, delicious Chinese fare.
