Indian style chilli chicken is arguably the most popular dish in India. Wherever you go, you can find a version of this Indo-Chinese dish.
Here's my version that's simple, uses basic ingredients and gets ready in a jiffy!
Easy-to-prepare Chilli Chicken
Marinate 200 gms boneless chicken in half teaspoon salt, pepper, a little soya sauce and vinegar. Crush 3-4 pods garlic and add. Mix a little chilli flakes.
Heat vegetable oil in a pan, add 2 cubed or quartered onions, finely chopped garlic, half diced capsicum and saute.
Add the chicken and stir fry on high flame. Lower flame after 5 minutes and add a teaspoon each soya sauce, vinegar, chilli sauce and tomato ketchup.
Add pinch of salt and pepper. Mix water with a teaspoon cornflour, and mix into the pan. Add water as desired to make gravy thick or thin.
I added some stalks of coriander at the end which gave a nice flavour. You can garnish with spring onions.
Chilli chicken is ready! Serve with plain/fried rice or Parathas.
