This year, made some Chholar Burfi for Diwali.
Ma used to make this awesome sweet, and it still sparks fond memories.
I searched the internet and dug up what seemed an authentic recipe. Here are the results:

This is a rather clumsy effort, I think. Some turned out laddoos, instead of burfis!😱
But they tasted yummy and very wholesome.😇
Only difference is, now I remembered ma didn't used to give milk or khoya. So her version was darker and earthier than mine. I think she used to roast the dal paste in ghee with elaichi and added sugar syrup. She put a kishmish in each when they were solidifying. 🤗
